Fegensjön provides a great fishing trip for anglers. The lake consists of several narrow bays, shallow creeks and great depths. With over 17 different species inhabiting the lake, you are sure to catch a variety of fish on your hook, including everything from walleye to large pikes.

When can I go fishing?

The peak seasons are in the spring and autumn, especially for pike, but you can go fishing all year round here. There are a number of islands and headlands in Fegensjön that are off-limits to humans, as certain birds nest there, including the osprey and black-throated diver. The ban is in effect from 1 April to 31 July, and there are signs to indicate the off-limit areas on land and water. You are not allowed to venture closer than 100 metres to the shore in these areas. The maximum speed for boats during this period is 5 knots

What rules apply?

Trawling and spinning are the most common methods. Along the beaches, meta and fly fishing is fine too. A fishing licence allows you to fish with hand tools, a maximum of two rods and no more than 5 pieces of fishing tackle. To protect fish stocks, you may only catch a maximum of 3 pikes between 40 - 75 cm in length.
